In fact some experts have cautioned that these aftershocks will be felt in certain regions in Japan for the next 5 years, with some aftershocks measuring in the 7.2 to 7.4 range on the Richter scale.

The earthquake of March 2011, which measured 9 on the Richter scale, has created such an impact that the nuclear experts have started taking about the preparedness of the Fukushima nuclear power plant, and other nuclear power plants in Japan, in withstanding the tsunamis and other damage that can possibly be caused by the aftershocks.

Nuclear experts feel that the current administration is focusing too much on controlling the radioactivity level in Fukushima nuclear power plant and not paying sufficient attention to the overall safety of the entire Japanese nuclear industry.”
